What is the best way to get closure from a breakup?

So I dated this guy 18 years ago and one day he just stops calling. Yeah he was touring with his band at the time. Well recently we just got back in touch. Is it wrong to want to know why he just stopped calling?
It’s not wrong to want to know, but it been 18 years to care. Maybe if you talking about old times you can ask him most likely you probably won’t get an honest answer. It sounds to me like he was caught up in the touring of the band at the time. Forget about the pass and make a new friend and a new start because people do change.
Don’t ask him why. You’ll just come over as some psycho that still remembers something a LOOONG time ago and he won’t tell you the truth, anyway. He’ll just make up some reason that makes it seem like he still really liked/loved you a lot but wanted the best for you or something like that.
