Why hasn’t my ex responded back to my email?

I sent my ex an email wishing him best wishes with his new gf and I told him how Happy I am for him and I hope things work out for the two of them. Well he replied back thank you and I replied asking him why he was being so short and sweet with me and he has yet to respond to my message. I know he is online because he’s on yahoo all day and has updated his status. Why hasn’t he replied back to my message?
Hey girl..
Be patient. im the same way in the situation im in right now, i learned to be patient and kill the time by talking to a friend or watching tv or whatever can get my mind off of him. It takes time, and be strong, show him you are better then any girl he’ll meet in his future.
