How can I get my belongings back from my ex?

December 25th, 2009 by admin | Filed in Get Your Ex Back

Ok my ex broke up with me in November 2007 and things have turned sour between us, she has changed her number and blocked my emails. Thing is we live 100 miles apart and she has some of my belongings. I have phoned and wrote a letter asking for them back but have recieved no reply. But when I phoned on sunday her dad answered and threatened me with the police! what can i do?

dont let the dad threaten you. YOU go to the police and tell them. they will do all of the phone calling so that you dont get into any trouble. good luck! :]
    best answer, please. :]

Cut your losses and learn from your mistakes. You have just learned a very important lesson in break-ups: it is best to keep it civil!

You ain’t never gettin’ your stuff back, ace.

You’ll probably have to file a claim in small claims court.

File in small claims court for the return of your stuff.

  7. wizjp | 25/12/09

Hire an atty or buy new stuff.

Take her to small claims court, dont try to go over there yourself!

Try to make arrangements with the local police to escort you back onto the property to retrieve your belongings. Let the know that you have tried other methods and have be threatened. Set a time, have them contact your ex and don’t be late.

You go to the police and explain your position. They go with you to collect your belongings. You might have to prove what you own..

Talk to the police there and tell them, line them up to go to the house with you!

  12. mr. czar | 25/12/09

call the police and say you want an escort to go get things that are rightfully yours.

That happend to my uncle and he went to the court.

Call the police, have them escort you to the location, and get your stuff. That is all you can do. Do not keep harrassing her, it will be worse for you then.

  17. Boo | 25/12/09

Talk to the dad and tell him you just have a few things you forgot their. Tell him you will just send a friend to go get the stuff.

I would take your dad up over there, and call the police when you are on your way.

  19. Mel | 25/12/09

The legal way is to spend many thousands of dollars on lawyers, go to court, get a judgement, spend more thousands to get the judgement enforced.

The illegal way is to wait until she’s out of town, crawl in her window and take only what it yours.

Both of these have their downside. Easier might be just to let it go as one more loss. You can write off theft losses on your taxes, by the way.

send her a self addressed postage paid box with one final request, then call the police yourself. in the meantime stop all other contact so there is no chance she can charge you with harrasment

Can you get a neutral third party to intervene on your behalf? Someone who knows both you and your ex? That might work best. Otherwise you’re probably going to have to pursue legal channels. But might as well exhaust the simpler (and cheaper) avenues first.

  26. Sunny | 25/12/09

You need to go to the police and get an escort to her house to get your belongings. If she is going to play tough then you need to also!

  27. Surgio | 25/12/09

U gotta turn ugly. Hire a couple of Samoan girls to take a visit and say hi to her.

I’ll hook u up with their # for a donation,

write a letter to her and detail the items that you’d like back. if you don’t get a response, you’re going to have to go to the police with a copy of the letter and ask for their assistance. but, if all else fails, call OJ, he seems to be pretty good at getting stuff back… good luck…

Drive to her town. Go to the police station nearest her apartment/house, etc. Tell them the girl has your possessions and you would like an escort to get them. Make a list so you don’t forget anything. It is a one shot deal, so make the most of it. It would be helpful if you had mail with that address on it to show the desk Sargent at the station.

call the police. its sad people cant be civil about this stuff. explain to the police what happened and you might have to pay a constable to come with you but you will get your stuff back. if that dont work go to her house yourself, beat up her dad and steal his stuff.

lol wow he threatened u with the police??? when his daughter is a theif?!

hm. i think you should try calling the dad and talking to him about it. maybe leave a detailed message saying she has your things and how you need them back. if he DOES go to the police, dont worry bc uve done nothing wrong. if anything, the police would be able to help u out in this situation.

now if the girl is claiming that the things are hers then you have a bigger problem. do u have any reciepts or antyhing to prove it is your stuff?

if its pretty valuable i would say take her to court for it. like a small claims court.

but if its like a shirt or some boxers or whatever i dunno. maybe its time to just let it go ya know? especially bc the distance thing.

but yeah try talkin to the dad or leave a message or something bc im sure shes saying like omg he wont stop calling me! when in reality u just want ur stuff back.

    GOOD LUCK!

do nothing.stay away from her. she made clear she does not want you any where around her.nothing you left behind is that important. take it as a loss and a lesson learned. i have 6 girls and i can tell you when daddy says its time for you to go way daddy means it.
