we had been going out for just under 2 years, he broke it off, we hadn’t cheated or anything like that. we broke up because of argument. girls what did you do do get him back?

I’m a man, but the best thing to do in my opinion is to make him jealous. Jealousy can do wonders, I know how it works, we get jealous pretty fast and it completely messes with our heads.
If you two are not together anymore, act like you are absolutely ok with that, be friends with him. Go on dates with other men, more handsome or "quality" they might seem, the more he will be jealous… more he will want you back.
Be friends with him and while you’re having fun with other men, let him know you’re doing that

I backed off and gave him some time and space to miss me then went and became friends with him again and now we’re friends and I am very happy with that. (: mainly because with our lives the way they are right now we can’t be more than friends.

Well maybe you shouldn’t want him back because obviously he is too weak for you,He broke up with you for an argument and your still willing to work out the relationship and he isn’t.Move on is the best thing,or have fun.He will come back when he is ready,Even though i know it seems like he never will,but if he doesn’t then that just means he wasn’t the right one for you anyways.
