After breaking up and getting back together, do people usually stay together?

One of my best friends and his girlfriend are long distance (college and HS). She wanted to take a break, so they did. I guess they’re getting back together. But I don’t want him to get hurt. I think he cares about her more (she’s a year older.) What’s the chance that they’ll stay together?

   Not very likely.

   Think of it like marriages. 1st marriages have the highest success rate. After each successive marriage the % goes down by 1/3 each time.

   well she is not really serious about that relationship so it may not last

   Couples who break up and get back together usually do not last. Mainly because they can not seem to get over who the other person slept with when they were not together.
