He's hoping that after a few weeks that you will get used to being without him and letting you go will be easier for him. In these next few weeks do your own thing and even though you will be missing him and wondering why etc just take time to concentrate on yourself and hang with your girlfriends. Trust me, this is some kind of test or game so don't play into it and sit around for weeks wondering if his dying love is going to bring him back. He's got a plan of his own so get a plan of your own and try your best not to give him more room in your life than he deserves. :) it seems to me that he’s trying not to hurt you and he’s letting you go easily.
