Hello guys,
I am looking for some really, really beautiful poems in English. I especially like sad poems and poems of the period of romanticism. I love stuff like "If you were coming" by Emily Dickinson. But since I’m not a native English-Speaker, I don’t know that many English poems. Though I very much want to get known to some beautiful ones. I also heard for example, that Emerson wrote some very nice poems. But if you don’t know exactly, which ones are good and which ones aren’t, of course it’s kinda hard ’cause there are so many. So, if you have any ideas, please tell me!
They can be by American, as well as by British writers.

I need a good poem that I can easily preform and memorize for a local event for middle school students. It is going to be a cafe thing at the local library, and the presentation has to be less than 3 min long. I am left empty handed when it comes to preforming (except I have been told I have wonderful acting skills), and so I want to keep it relatively simple and short. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Here are some guidelines:
-school appropriate
-please no love poems
-I prefer happy or sad poems, but not love poems
-something simple, but deep in meaning
-something easy to memorize and preform
